Building on a successful technology exchange last year, FPPC turns its focus on regional issues throughout the country. The first Summit of 2010 will be held in the Chesapeake Bay area at The Westin Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland on March 29th – 31st.
The theme of this symposium will be to focus on the challenges of reducing nutrient load from the agricultural community in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. FPPC will update participants on results of their technology projects and invite all stakeholders to discuss the implications of a tightened regulatory environment. Speakers and topics include but not limited to:
- "Development of value added products from litter through fractionation and pyrolysis” Dr. Mark Risse, P.E., University of Georgia
- “Pyrolysis: Environmentally friendly solution to nutrient management in the Chesapeake Bay” Foster Agblevor, Associate Professor, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and University

- “Potential Effects of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL and the Executive Order on the Agricultural Community” Mark Dubin, Agricultural Technical Coordinator, University of Maryland

This technology exchange program has been designed with ample opportunity to interact with principal investigators of farm scale projects and will provide a key networking opportunity with recognized experts from government, industry and universities.
